हिन्दी विभाग (DEPARTMENT OF HINDI)

The department was established in 1964. Of the two faculty members, one is a Ph.D holder. The department engages classes in Part II Hindi of all degree courses. A former faculty member of the department has translated Sree Narayana Guru's Ten Hymns to God, "Daivadasakam" to Hindi. Today this institution is a full pledged Arts and Science College with Degree and Post Graduate Courses. Present B.A, B.Sc, B.Com students study Hindi as their Second Language (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Psychology, Geology, Zoology, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, History and B Com).   Every Year More than 300 students select Hindi as their Second Language. For BA and BSc Course, Hindi is taught as additional Language for four semesters and for B.Com it is for only first and second semesters.

Prof. Nandiyodu Ramachandran was the first teaching Staff. At present we have two faculty members Dr. Sheela R. S, working as Assistant Professor  & HOD and Dr. Chitra Bindu S (Assistant Professor).

Aim and Objectives of the department is to enable the students to taste the essence of Hindi Literature, to create academic excellence, develop communicative skill, and inculcate our rich culture and heritage among the students.
